… Jesus took the bread, and when he had blessed it, he broke it and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take and eat; This is my body.” Then he took the cup and, when he had given thanks, gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, poured out for many, for the forgiveness of sins.” For the consecration of bread and wine, during the Eucharistic celebration, various objects are normally used, including the paten on which to place the host, the chalice in which to pour the wine, the pyx to distribute the hosts during communion.
Nowadays, the general trend is to seek simpler, linear, and sober shapes, combining metal with other
materials such as stone, marble, or color. Baroque-style chalices have become rare. Moreover, the tendency
is to do without decorations, to have large surfaces worked in various ways and then well finished. We
have created our own modern and functional line, which fully reflects this thought; it’s important for us to
keep in mind the conciliar provisions and tradition but at the same time to grasp and unite the expressions
of contemporary culture. We use noble materials such as copper, brass or silver of considerable thickness
which are hand-chiseled and hand-hammered, but also finished with plating guaranteed at 24 kr, gilding,
silvering, two-tone or enamels.
